Urbanista Girl

Sunshine in San Diego

Travel

31 Aug

As much as I love San Francisco, I feel like at some point in my life I’ll live a bit more South. If its up to me, San Diego may be it! Even though I’ve lived in the Bay Area for almost four years, I only visited San Diego for the first time a year ago. My boyfriends grandparents live in a beautiful beach house on the water and we try to escape there any chance we get! Every time I go to San Diego, I feel like I’m out of the country – or at least out of state. How is this beautiful beach vibe just an hour flight away from my busy, hustle bustle, traffic-filled life?!

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I met my parents in San Diego. They live on the East Coast so this was their first time there! After a horrible AirBnB situation, we were able to actually start our vacation once we found sufficient last minute hotels rooms! (More on that later..!) We did a lot of beachside running, eating and relaxing. We stayed in Carlsbad for two nights and La Jolla for two nights, stopping in Encinitas, Pacific Beach, Del Mar, Gaslamp District and my favorite, Coronado Beach!

Here’s a few snaps from along the way! Some of my favorite stops were: A day at the Coronado Beach Resort (pricey, but worth it!), Jakes Del Mar for lunch/dinner with Ocean Front dining and amazing food, Dukes La Jolla (we were there for July 4th, this was perfect for viewing the fireworks and soaking in the gorgeous view), Better Buzz Coffee – a hip and yummy breakfast spot.
